Miles has spent over thirty successful years in London’s Mayfair, returning to club land in 2015 to take up the position of CEO and Club Secretary at the Royal Air Force Club in Piccadilly. The Royal Air Force Club, which celebrates its 100th year in 2018, currently boasts over 25,000 Members, serving and retired officers of the Royal Air Force and their families, with her Majesty the Queen as longstanding Patron.
Upon leaving Westminster College in 1984, Miles joined The Connaught Hotel on a management training programme for five years, including a placement year in Switzerland. Upon returning to the UK in 1989, Miles commenced his first management position at The Connaught as Assistant Reception Manager. In 1993 Miles was appointed Manager at Gravetye Manor in West Sussex before returning to London in 1996 to take up the position of General Manager at The Oriental Club in Stratford Place. In 2000 he was appointed General Manager at 47 Park Street, moving to the Marriott Hotel Park Lane as General Manager, where he remained for 8 years.
Miles continues to support the hospitality industry and works with the Savoy Society on their mentoring scheme and Caterer & Hotelkeeper’s, ‘Young Guns Awards’, developing aspiring new talent.
Miles is a Master Innholder and Freeman of the City of London and lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and two daughters.
